Camp Kalahari
Makgadikgadi Pans, Kalahari
Camp Kalahari is located on the site of Jack Bousfield's original camp and offers an affordable Makgadikgadi Pans experience.
The simple guest tents are built under thatch and have en suite bathrooms with flushing toilets, hot and cold running water as well as swing beds on the large verandas. There is no electricity at this rustic camp which allows you enjoy the wilderness experience of the pans.
Activities on offer from the camp include walking with the Bushman trackers, exploring the harsh but beautiful scenery of the pans on quad bikes and visiting the famous Chapman's Baobab. You can also meet the habituated meerkats and enjoy a sleep-out on the pans under the stars.
Camp Kalahari is a simple camp which has recently been refurbished and it offers a great value for money way to experience this unique area of Botswana. The Makgadikgadi Pans are more about the scenery than wildlife so a visit here is a great contrast to the safari activities of the Okavango Delta.
We would recommend a two night stay at Camp Kalahari at the end, or beginning, of your Botswana safari.
