    Bushman history is an intrinsic element in the evolution of humanity, and nowhere is this more apparent than in Botswana. Bushman communities have survived on the Makgadikgadi Pans and in areas of western Botswana for centuries. A visit there now allows you to interact with them, experiencing first hand how they cook, hunt, eat and live.

    Slipping through the Delta's mazy waterways and tall papyrus in a mokoro is the most relaxing way to view game. Serenely moving along with only the gurgle of the water passing under your craft, you encounter lechwe grazing in the shallows, kingfishers perched on overhanging branches and crocodiles lurking in dark corners.

    On the Makgadikgadi Pans you experience an ethereal lunar landscape unlike anywhere else in Africa. It is possible to see the curvature of the earth, sleep out under the stars, and at some times of the year watch a great wildlife migration. Although more thickly vegetated, Nxai and Tau Pans also offer unique landscapes and habitats.

Edo's Camp

Central Kalahari

Edo’s Camp is a tiny and traditional camp located in a 300,000 acre private game conservancy on the edge of the Kalahari.

The four spacious tents are well equipped with comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. Each has a private veranda shaded by ancient leadwood trees and looks out towards a rocky watering hole which attracts large quantities of wildlife in the dry season.

The atmosphere here is of a relaxed and intimate safari experience with friendly camp staff and unique surroundings.

The Kalahari is a harsh but fascinating environment with over 400 species of birds and desert-adapted species such as gemsbok, hartebeest, kudu, springbok, wildebeest, giraffe and rhino.

To experience the wildlife and environment of this area Edo's offers ventures on foot to track rhino with the Bushmen, visiting a Bushmen village where you can go hunting, and day and night game drives.

You can also spend time at camp either relaxing by the small pool or watching the birdlife and the endless procession of thirsty animals visiting the waterhole.

Guests at Edo's are also welcome to visit the local orphanage based on the property to which a percentage of your nightly stay is donated.
