Accommodation in Botswana: Vumbura Plains
Vumbura Plains is one of the most luxurious camps in the Okavango Delta. Activities from camp include game drives, walking safaris and boating when the water-levels permit it. We highly recommend a mokoro trip early one morning.

Vumbura Plains
Vumbura Concession
Vumbura Plains is one of the most luxurious camps in the Okavango Delta.
It sits in the heart of the Vumbura Concession, under jackalberry trees and strangler fig trees and overlooking a vast and attractive floodplain. Elephants are not infrequent visitors to camp, walking behind the tents and feeding on the trees. Tree squirrels scuttle over the roofs and francolins run into the bushes.
The camp is split into two separate seven roomed camps, North Camp and South Camp and there are a couple of kilometres from the end of one camp to the other.
Each camp has its own dining, lounge and bar area although all fourteen rooms (or parts thereof) can be utilised for larger parties. All of the spacious rooms are raised off the ground on wooden platforms with walkways connecting them to the main living areas. The room design is modern and stylish with a Scandinavian feel. Each is open plan and has a large, very comfortable bedroom, a lounge, a sala and en suite facilities with a shower, a flush toilet and an outdoor shower under the stars. Each room has its own private plunge pool and large private deck with sun loungers.
Activities from camp include game drives, walking safaris and boating when the water-levels permit it. We highly recommend a mokoro trip early one morning. They are great for seeing little bee-eaters lined up on papyrus, crakes, pygmy geese and the night lilies closing whilst the day ones open. They are beautiful trips and very relaxing.
