Day 1London
This evening you will all fly overnight from London to Johannesburg.
On arrival in Johannesburg, clear immigration, collect your luggage and proceed to check-in for your onward flight to Maun with Air Botswana. On landing in Maun you will be met and shown to a light aircraft for your transfer into the Delta to the Shinde concession where you will be collected and taken to Footsteps camp. This is a safari camp as it used to be - rustic - yet comfortable with no detail overlooked. You will stay here for 3 nights.
The Footsteps program is great for people who are a little bit more adventurous and want to experience a bit more of the real side of camping in the bush. The camp is a little rustic but far from being basic. It really is an outstanding experience. The camp mainly concentrates on walking as the name suggests, but mokoro trips are also possible. This is a fantastic experience and you will learn so much along the way from the expert guides.
A second day at Footsteps. The Young Explorers programme here is a fantastic first time safari experience for youngsters. The guides are fabulous and experts at engaging the whole family and teaching them about the bush.
Today you will be taken back to the airstrip for your transfer to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve where you will stay at Camp Okuti for the next 3 nights.
Today you can join morning and afternoon game viewing activities. The camp is situated in an area rich in wildlife and game viewing is consistent year round.
A second day on safari from Camp Okuti.
Today you will be flown north to the small town of Kasane. Here you will be met and have a game drive into the heart of the Chobe National Park to Muchenje Safari Lodge. This afternoon you can enjoy a boat cruise on the river or perhaps an afternoon game drive in Chobe National Park.
A full day to enjoy excursions from the lodge. During your stay there are a number of excursions included such as guided bush walks, local village tours, boat cruises along the Chobe River and game drives in the national park.
Another full day of activities. I recommend game drives into Chobe early in the morning when game viewing is at its best. Elephants tend to congregate down on the banks of the river in the heat of the day. Afternoons are great to sit back in a boat and watch the herds come to drink.
Today you will be drive back to Kasane in time for your Air Botswana flight to Johannesburg. From here you will fly overnight back to the UK.
Day 12London
Early this morning you will arrive back at London Heathrow.
