Selinda Camp is located on a palm island with views of the Selinda Spillway, yellow floodplains and grey termite mounds and palm tree islands in the distance. The camp was totally rebuilt and refurbished in March 2007 with nine luxury safari tents raised up off the ground on polished wooden floors and under thatch. Each tent has comfortable three-quarter size beds with fine linens, ceiling fans to keep you cool in the hotter seasons and dark wood furniture collected from around the world. The spacious bathrooms are en suite with huge stone baths and showers with brass fittings. Sliding doors allow for privacy or create an open-air bathroom feel as required. A large private veranda allows guests to relax and enjoy the views from camp. Wildlife surrounds you at Selinda Camp. Tree squirrels run along the dusty paths and families of warthogs are usually around. At night small two wire fences are put up to stop the elephants coming into camp.
The main lodge has a lounge and raised thatched dining area that overlooks the floodplains and the Spillway. There is also a raised deck for evening meals under the stars and a well stocked wine cellar. Above the cellar is a quiet reading area where guests can retire to read from the library and to enjoy the fine art selection of Beverly Joubert's images collected over the years from her work with National Geographic. Outside, the camp's plunge pool is surrounded by lush grass and is an ideal place to cool off on a hot afternoon.
Activities include morning, evening and night game drives and walks in the surrounding area with expert guides. Often afternoon drives explore the Zibadianja Lagoon and Linyanti River. There are excellent game densities in the area and you're likely to have some very good viewing.
