Chitabe Walking Trail, Chitabe Concession

The Chitabe Walking Trail is a two night walking trail in the Chitabe Concession Area. Guests are accompanied by an armed guide who will take them on informative and adventurous walks through the different habitats of the Okavango Delta. The walking trail experience allows guest to get their feet on the ground and get away from vehicles, to really feel, smelll and touch Africa. Walks last for about several hours a day at a moderate pace. There is plenty of time for quality game viewing and birding. Nights are spent sleeping out at two hides located in different parts of the Chitabe Concession. Both hides accommodate guests on elevated platforms with each person sleeping in the hide under a mosquito net, with the African night sky above. Each hide is located in contrasting habitats, one on the edge of a floodplain that often contains water and the other on the edge of extensive woodland with views of a wide plain. In the evenings dinner is cooked on the campfire and eaten under the stars. As night falls you'll hear the squeak of bushbabies, roaring of lions and whooping of hyena.
