Duba Plains Camp is situated in mature forest with views of floodplains and reedbeds. Small sandy paths lead through the trees to six tents that are comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches, such as wildlife books and tiny bottles of amarula for nightcaps. For the heat of the day, each tent has a shady veranda, or guests can take a dip in the small pool. The camp sparkles at night, with dinner lit by lanterns under the trees. There is a cacophony of noises, as reedfrogs, fruitbats, cicadas and jackal all compete in the night air. Activities include half- and full-day game drives on the plains, with excellent guides.
