The Okavango Delta,
Botswana

The Kanana Mokoro Trail is a specially designed mokoro experience, allowing guest a unique opportunity to search for rarely seen animals such as the sitatunga and Pel's fishing owl. The Trails camp accommodates a maximum of four people in two twin bedded tents, and the camp includes the services of two professional guides, personal chef, waiter, housekeeper and mokoro guides. You will reach your camp by mokoro gliding peacefully to one of the most remote areas of the Okavango Delta where your rustic bush camp is set up for you on a secluded island. The accommodation at camp is in spacious dome tents each with private bucket shower (filled with hot water by the camp staff) and long drop toilet. Dinners are eaten around a blazing camp fire with iced drinks in hand and tall tales from your hosts about their experiences in the wilds. Activities are very much focussed on exploring the Delta by mokoro as well as guided walks on the islands. From the mokoro you may see red lechwe, fish eagles, painted reed frogs, golden orb spiders and malachite kingfishers. You will search for the very shy sitatunga and also seek out rare bird species such as the Pel's fishing oil and slaty egret. The mokoros also have rods and spinning lures for those who'd like to try their hand a fishing for bream, pike and silver catfish.
