Visitors expected to flock back to Kenya: 20-05-2008

Visitors expected to flock back to Kenya18602111Kenya is planning for five million travellers to visit the country in the next five years.

Last year saw the highest number of tourists visit Kenya but the industry was hit hard by political friction.

But Najib Balala told the AFP that in a year visitor numbers would be up again.

He was speaking at a business event in the Masai Mara national park to reassure the world that Kenya was a great place to visit.

Adam Wood, the British High Commissioner, also said that he expected Britons to return to Kenya describing it as a "good destination".

The gathering in the Masai Mara was an ideal location to entice visitors back to the African country which is famed for its safari.

A visit to the Masai Mara is likely to include a chance to spot the 'big five' - lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinoceros and leopards - but one of the most popular attractions is the annual migration of the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle.
