The Ultimate Madagascar itinerary explores some of Madagascar’s most remote areas, staying in luxury accommodation throughout.
The trip starts in a luxury tented camp, tucked into the Ifotaka Community Forest in the far south of Madagascar. During the day you can explore the forest, sacred to the local Antandroy tribe. Ring-tailed lemurs, sifakas, chameleons and more are all found here. In addition to forest walks you will also be able to immerse yourself in the culture of the Antandroy, one of Madagascar’s most traditional and fiercest tribes. From the south to the north, you’ll fly up the length of the country to Nosy Be and take a boat out to the remote Tsarabanjina Island. Tsarabanjina is an idyllic tropical island with four sandy beaches, turquoise waters and rich coral reefs nearby. You can spend a lazy four days swimming, snorkelling, diving and enjoying some of Madagascar’s best seafood.
Finally, you’ll enjoy a spectacular flight down the coast to Anjajavy. Perched between the forest and the ocean this is the ultimate place to end your trip. Brown lemurs and Coquerel’s sifakas are found in the forest, as well as frequently in the grounds of the lodge. You can spend days exploring remote offshore islands, snorkelling, walking in the forest, or just lying in your hammock listening to the brown lemurs on your rooftop!
