South Africa grows in popularity18496551South Africa is still a popular destination for travellers with over nine million international visitors setting foot in the country during 2007 to visit some of the world's most spectacular sites.

Safari and stunning scenery draw most tourists to South Africa and according to Marthinus van Schalkwyk, environmental affairs and tourism minister, people from all over the world are visiting the country.

He also said that he expects more and more visitors to come to the country and aims to reach ten million by 2010.

Numerous national parks and nature reserves can be found all over South Africa and visitors are often attracted to the Kruger National Park.

About the size of Wales, the Kruger is probably the most famous National Park in South Africa and as well as being huge it contains many different species of animal to entice the keenest safari goer.

Buffalo, giraffes and zebra are just a few of the exciting species to be found in the park along with bigger game such as lions and elephants.
