Stunning beaches, crystal clear waters and thick vegetation, very few places on earth are as pleasing on the eye as the Seychelles. It really is a good as you hope it will be.

Soft white sand squeaks underfoot as you walk along the beach. Ghost crabs scuttle to and fro and white fairy terns flutter overhead. There is no sound apart from the lapping ocean and the wind whispering in the coconut palms. Pale blue skies, smooth boulders and azure waters - this can only be the Seychelles, the emerald jewels of the Indian Ocean.
The Seychelles consist of 115 granite and coral islands scattered just below the equator. Thirty of the islands are inhabited and the remaining 85 are completely untouched. Here, thousands of sooty terns, white-tailed tropicbirds, frigates and boobies nest, mottled eggs lying in soft sand. Turtles lumber ashore to lay their eggs before returning to the safety of the water, where vibrant coral reefs support thriving shoals of fish and visiting pelagic species.
The beaches are superb, immortalised in countless films and commercials, and the Seychelles has always been a honeymoon favourite. With new luxury lodges bringing sophisticated comforts and a service culture to these paradise islands, their place is assured as one of the world’s great destinations for ‘barefoot luxury’.
