Day 1London
This evening you are scheduled to fly from London to Nairobi overnight.
On arrival at Nairobi airport you will see the early morning hustle and bustle below you. A driver will greet you and take you to the domestic terminal for your light aircraft flight down to the Masai Mara. You will be met at Ngerende airstrip and transferred by 4 x 4 vehicle to your camp. There is so much game around this area that you might even stop on the way into camp for a little light game viewing.
After an afternoon cup of tea, you will head out for a game drive in the park.
A full day on safari in the Masai Mara. Often you will go out for a game drive early in the morning, returning for lunch and a snooze in the heat of the day. Later, as it cools down and the animals become more active, you will head back out into the bush.
A day in the Masai Mara. The Mara is where the Big Cat Diaries are filmed, so look out for lions under bushes, cheetahs on termite mounds, and the tails of leopards hanging from the trees.
Enjoy an early morning game drive and breakfast, relax a bit and then you will be transferred to the Ol Kiombo airstrip in time for your light aircraft flight out to the coast. On arrival at Ukunda Airstrip you will be met and taken to Asha Cottages where you will have the rest of the day free to relax.
A day to enjoy Asha cottages. If you need some pampering to soothe you after safari there is a masseuse at the lodge who offers treatment in the gazebo amongst the lodge`s gardens. A lovely way to erase the dust of safari!
You will have a day at leisure at Asha Cottage. The lodge has it`s own traditional nglawa, which can take you out snorkelling.
Free time at Asha Cottage. Though the lodge itself is fairly small, there are plenty of water sports that can be organised from the nearby hotels if you are keen to be active.
Relaxation at Asha Cottage. The gardens here are small but pretty, a real sanctuary from the outside world, and make a perfect spot to sit with a book for a few hours while the trees whisper up above.
In the morning you will need to check out of your rooms, but you will be able to enjoy Asha Cottages until later in the afternoon, when you will head back to Mombasa Airport. From here you will fly back to Nairobi and on to the UK overnight.
