You will fly to Paris today before meeting your overnight flight to Madagascar.
You will land in Madagascar this morning before catching your onward flight to the beautiful Ile Sainte Marie. You will land and be taken to Princesse Bora Lodge by Zebu cart. This afternoon you will have a chance to relax and explore the island.
Day 3Ile Sainte Marie
Today you may like to explore some of the stunning coast that the island has to offer. The lodge runs lots of excursions (at an additional cost) to some of the surrounding smaller islands including Ile aux Nattes, found at the southern tip of the main island. Here you can snorkel enjoying the colourful fish, walk along the white sandy beaches and visit the lighthouse which offers some great views over the entire island.
Day 4Ile Sainte Marie
During your last full day at Princesse Bora you may like to visit the nearby Pirate Cemetery or go snorkelling at Ampanhiny. Alternatively the hotel offers such a relaxing stay that you may just want to snooze or relax on the jetty with a cold drink.
This afternoon, from the lodge, you will be driven back to the airport either by Zebu cart or vehicle where you will then check in for your flight back to Tana. This evening you may like to enjoy dinner in one of the many lovely restaurants in the city.
You will leave the capital today and fly to Fort Dauphin in the south. You will be met by a driver from Mandare River Camp. He will drive you to camp, a journey that takes around four hours. You will visit magnificent sand dunes on your way having lunch. On arrival you`ll be able to relax with a cold drink and enjoy some of the superb food the chef conjures up.
There are numerous activities to enjoy from Mandare River Camp. I highly recommend a walk in the sacred forest. This is excellent for viewing lemurs, chameleons and birds found in the dry south.
Today you can choose to spend the day either on further forest walks or immersing yourself in the Antandroy culture. You may choose to visit the local village and meet with the ombiasy or get involved with learning how to use a zebu-hide slingshot! The Antandroy tribe are a fascinating people and you will gain a unique insight to their culture.
This morning you will have a chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before being taken back to Fort Dauphin, a journey of around four hours. You will catch your flight back to Antananarivo and will have the evening to relax at your hotel.
Early this morning you will be taken to Ivato airport to meet your 7am flight to Anjajavy, once you have landed you will be driven to the hotel where a late breakfast will be waiting for you on the lawn. This afternoon you may wish to relax by the pool to recover from your flight before enjoying tea in the Oasis in the early evening.
I suggest today that you explore some of the nature that Anjajavy is home to, the dry reserve is home to numerous lemur species as well as lots of crabs, reptiles and different flora. You may also like to go out on a night walk this evening enjoying the nocturnal wildlife and hopefully spotting some tiny mouse lemurs.
Today you will be able to explore the private stretch of coastline that belongs to Anjajavy. I recommend at least making it as far as the third beach, with two champignon islands, as this was my favourite beach and depending on the tides has some good snorkelling.
Today there may be the possibility of visiting Moramba Bay. This trip is a wonderful way to explore the wild and untouched coast line seeing lots of unusual flora, great bird life and if your lucky spotting dolphins, who come and swim with the boat.
The hotel runs a trip to one of the local villages, you may want to join in with this having a chance to see some of rural northern Madagascar, or alternatively simply spend the day snoozing by the pool.
Early this afternoon you will be taken to Anjajavy airstrip to meet your flight to Tana. The flight lasts around an hour and a half. This afternoon you can enjoy a guided city tour visiting some of the many palaces and perhaps taking the opportunity to visit the extensive craft markets. This evening you can enjoy dinner on the lovely terrace over the city.
After a day in town you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight back to Paris.
