This 11 day trip uses just two camps in Madagascar, so it means less travelling around for the family. The first is located beside a sacred forest and allows you to enjoy some unique wildlife whilst the second is situated on a far flung beach. The trip will allow the family to enjoy a range of activities from wildlife walks, market visits, whale watching trips, canoeing and relaxing on the beach.

Day 1London - Nairobi

Today you will fly overnight from London to Nairobi and then switch onto a flight to Madagascar.

Day 2Antananarivo

On arrival you will clear customs and immigration before being taken to your city centre hotel. Here you will have the chance to relax and get over your international flights.

Day 3Antananarivo - Fort Dauphin (Toalagnaro) - Ifotaka Community Forest

Today you will be taken back to the airport and then fly down to Fort Dauphin. On landing you will be met by a driver from Mandare River Camp. He will drive you to camp, a journey that takes around 3 hours. On arrival you`ll be able to relax with a cold drink and enjoy some of the superb food the chef conjures up.

Day 4Ifotaka Community Forest

There are numerous activities to enjoy from Mandrare River Camp. I highly recommend a walk in the sacred forest. This is excellent for viewing lemurs, chameleons and birds.

Day 5Ifotaka Community Forest

Today you can choose to spend the day either on further forest walks or immersing yourself in the Antandroy culture. You may choose to visit the local village and meet with the ombiasy or get involved with learning how to use a zebu-hide slingshot! The Antandroy tribe are a fascinating people and you will gain a unique insight to their culture.

Day 6Ifotaka Community Forest - Fort Dauphin (Toalagnaro) - Manafiafy

You will be taken back to Fort Dauphin, a journey of around four hours then continue to Manafiafy Beach and rainforest lodge where I have recommended 4 nights on the beach. Manafiafy is a great place to spend some time relaxing. There is also wildlife in the area and numerous activities to enjoy if feeling active.

Day 7Manafiafy

There are a number of different excursions and activities included during your stay including snorkelling around the sheltered bay, guided walks in the forest, boat rides through the mangroves channels and to near by islands.

Day 8Manafiafy

Today you may like to arrange a fishing trip from Manafiafy with guides from the lodge.

Day 9Manafiafy

Day relaxing at the lodge. You may like to enjoy some guided walks exploring the surrounding area. The forest is home to a large number of different species including the dwarf, mouse, sportive and brown lemurs as well as reptiles.

Day 10Manafiafy - Fort Dauphin (Toalagnaro) - Antananarivo

From Manafiafy you will be transferred by road to Fort Dauphin for your flight back to Tana arriving at 1440. You will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 11Antananarivo - Nairobi

You will be taken back to the airport and fly back to the UK via Nairobi.
