Halali Rest Camp
Etosha National Park
Halali is the newest of the three rest camps in Etosha.
Built in 1967 it is located in the centre of the park, half way between Okaukuejo and Namutoni and is surrounded by some particularly pretty game loops and waterholes.
It is the quietest of the camps and has a petrol pump, shop, restaurant, campsite and large swimming pool.
There are a number of rooms, arranged in long low houses under the trees. The rooms have recently been refurbished and offer a good standard of accommodation. At night if you look around you might see a honey-badger that likes to come and check out the kitchens.
A short walk from camp there is a lovely floodlit waterhole. Seats have been built on a rocky kopje overlooking the waterhole and it's a fabulous place to sit at night and watch the animals. In the dry season elephant, giraffe, zebra and jackal are all frequent visitors and rhino are sometimes seen.

Namibia is the ideal safari destination for the whole family - even those with very young children. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied, large parts are malaria-free, there's plenty of accommodation aimed at children, and of course the wildlife and scenery are fantastic.
