Namibia is the ideal safari destination for the whole family - even those with very young children. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied, large parts are malaria-free, there's plenty of accommodation aimed at children, and of course the wildlife and scenery are fantastic.

Children and a local Namibian guide
Namibia is an ideal country for families. The south is malaria free, many of the camps are fenced and guest-farms are run by people who’ve bought up their own children in the bush.
As you can self-drive you can tailor an itinerary to suit your family specifically. Car seats can be booked for young children and journeys planned with short distances so you’re not hearing ‘are we nearly there yet?’ constantly from the back seat.
The beauty of Namibia is that it offers probably the most diverse activities of any country. Children don’t have to be stuck on a game vehicle every morning and afternoon but can enjoy all sorts of things such as climbing dunes, kayaking amongst seals, meeting Bushmen, viewing flamingos, tracking elephant, bartering for wooden animals in markets and of course time on safari.
Many of the lodges have pools allowing children to swim to their heart’s content.
