Day 1London
This evening fly from London Heathrow to Johannesburg overnight.
On arrival in Johannesburg this morning, change planes and fly on to Windhoek. On arrival you will be greeted and taken into the centre of Windhoek. Our representatives will meet you at your guesthouse this afternoon and run through your itinerary and routing. Your vehicle will also be delivered to you at this time. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing after your long flight.
After breakfast this morning you will begin your exploration of Namibia by heading south to the desert. Along the way you may well see some wildlife so keep your eyes peeled.
Today is a chance to explore the desert. I would suggest getting up reasonably early and driving to Sossusvlei. The scenery both here and at Dead Vlei is sensational.
Drive north this morning towards the coast to the small town of Swakopmund. Swakopmund is a good base for close by activities. Why not try one of the fine restaurants in town tonight.
There are a number of excursions you can do from Swakopmund. Most popular is the sea kayaking from Walvis Bay where you get really close to the seals and sometimes see dolphins.
Today enjoy a stunning drive to Damaraland with views of Brandenburg Mountain and a never ending landscape which appears to change at every turn.
Day to explore Damaraland. Elephant tracking trips to spot the desert adapted elephant are a highlight and can be organised locally from your accommodation.
Today you will drive from Damaraland to Etosha National Park. Etosha offer some excellent big game viewing and is Namibia's premier national park. This afternoon you can drive yourself around Etosha or simply relax by one of Africa's best waterholes for some game viewing.
Enjoy self game drives in Etosha. In the evening relax around the waterhole over a drink and watch the game come to you.
After breakfast head south to Windhoek stopping for the night at The Elegant Farmstead. This journey will take roughly 5 hours. If you aim to arrive before 3pm you can take part in a scenic sunset drive from your Farmstead (paid locally)
Drive from Elegant Farmstead back to the airport this morning for your flight back to the UK via Johannesburg, where you will change aircraft.
