Day 1London
You will fly from London to Johannesburg overnight.
On landing you will be met by one of our representatives and driven to Windhoek. Here you will stay at The Elegant Guesthouse for one night. Later today your hire car will be delivered and you will have a full briefing from our ground agents.
Today your journey begins as you leave Windhoek and head south towards the Naukluft Mountains. Here you will stay at the lovely Corona Guest Farm tonight.
From Corona you will drive to the Sesriem area where you will stay on the Kulala Reserve at Kulala Desert Lodge. This afternoon you can enjoy a nature drive on the reserve learning about desert flora and fauna.
A full day to enjoy the wonders of the Namib Desert and its massive sand dunes. You can leisurely stroll through the shifting shapes or tackle one of the bigger dunes and try to climb it. Lunch under a shady tree will be the reward for whatever you decide to do in the Vlei.
Today your journey continues as you drive to the coast to the wonderful small town of Swakopmund. Swakopmund is full of character and it has plenty on offer. Why not try one of the fine restaurants in town tonight. A particular favourite of mine is the Tug Seafood restaurant.
Today I have provisionally booked you a tour of Sandwich Harbour - this is an exhilarating day trip giving you the opportunity to visit the dramatic coastline where the dunes meet the sea and learn about the fascinating coastal ecosystem of this area.
Leaving Swakopmund make your to Damaraland and stay at Doro !Nawas where you will stay for the next two nights.
Explore Damaraland either under your own steam or on activities arranged by Doro !Nawas.
Leaving Damaraland you will drive to the Ongava Reserve on the southern border of Etosha. This Reserve has game viewing opportunities just as good as in the park itself and this evening you will be able to join a game drive in the reserve.
Today will have the opportunity to either explore Etosha National Park or go on game drives in the Ongava Reserve. Being a private reserve there is also the opportunity to join a night drive.
Another chance to visit Etosha National Park, the awesome salt pan and the many waterholes. Alternatively a highlight at Ongava is that it is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where you have a chance of seeing both black and white rhino.
Today your journey turns south to the Central Highlands and to Okonjima Bush Camp - home of the AfriCat foundation. I suggest you arrive in time for lunch so that you can make the most of any late afternoon activities. You will stay here for 1 night.
After a morning activity you will depart Okonjima for the easy drive back to Windhoek International Airport (approx. 3 hours). Drop-off your hire car and proceed to check-in for your return flight to Johannesburg and then London.
Day 15London
Arrive back in the UK in the early morning.
