Day 1London
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
Connect with your flight from Johannesburg to Windhoek. Arriving around lunchtime into Windhoek you will be met at the airport and transferred to your guest house in town where you will spend your first night.
Your car will be delivered to your hotel this afternoon - please check it over thoroughly before accepting the keys. Our agents will also arrange a time to meet you in order for them to run through your itinerary one last time.
This morning you can stop off at a super market to buy some provisions for your journey. Leaving Windhoek you will start your journey south driving towards the Southern Kalahari where you will overnight. This drive will take around 4 hours.
Its an early start for your drive to Fish River Canyon - the drive will take between 4 and 5 hours.
Arriving at the lodge some time this afternoon you will have the chance to enjoy a sundowner drive or perhaps some walking in the area. Any activities can be paid for locally.
Today you will have a full day to explore the dramatic Fish River Canyon. You may like to arrange some hiking down in to the canyon with a guide.
From Fish River Canyon you will drive to the small town of Aus. Near the lodge you may be able to go and visit the wild horses.
Day 7Aus - Luderitz
Today you can explore Luderitz and enjoying a tour around the old mining town of Kolmanskopp. This is an area great for photography - the houses are the last remaining memory of `Millionaires Avenue` which are now derelict and filled with sand.
Today you will head north towards the Namib Desert. On your way to the lodge you will pass through the spectacular NamibRand nature reserve where the dunes change from light yellow to rich red. This evening you will be staying at your lodge in the Sossusvlei area.
Today I recommend a visit to the giant dunes at Sossusvlei where you will have the chance to explore the area on foot. Excursions can be arranged through the lodge or you can drive yourselves to the dunes and have shuttle drive you the remaining distance. If driving yourselves I recommend a you organise a picnic lunch for you to enjoy under the shade of the trees at the bottom of the dunes.
From Sossusvlei you will drive north to the coastal town of Swakopmund where I have recommended you spend the next two nights. This evening you may like to enjoy a meal in town - there are a number of good options, one of my favourites is the Tug where they serve delicious sea food.
Today I have included a kayaking excursion which will give you the chance to kayak amongst seals and dolphins.
Today you have a drive of about 3 hours up into the Erongo Mountains where you will spend your last two nights. This afternoon you can enjoy a scenic drive on the property or take a guided walk to the bush man rock art.
You will have a full day to enjoy some activities from Erongo. The walking in this area is great and does offer spectacular views. The lodge also has lovely gardens and a pool so you may prefer to put your feet up and unwind after a busy trip.
Today you will make your way back to Windhoek Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. The drive takes about 4 hours.
This evening you will fly from Windhoek to Johannesburg then connect with your onward flight back to London.
