Himba culture
The Himba are one of Africa's great historical tribes and visiting them can prove to be an enlightening experience. Twyfelfontein, in Damaraland, has some of the most extensive rock art in Africa, some of which dates back almost 6000 years.
Wildlife of Northern Namibia
There are also excellent wildlife viewing opportunities both in Etosha National Park and along the Caprivi Strip. Thriving birdlife and seal colonies inhabit the shores around Swakopmund and in the Walvis Bay lagoon.

- Khaudum National Park is little known and vastly underrated. In the dry season its permanent water holes are a magnet for large numbers of game. There is no accommodation in the Khaudum, just designated camping spots.
