Rwanda has a pleasant tropical climate.
There is little fluctuation in temperature throughout the year, with daytime temperatures between 25C and 30C. The “long rains” last from mid-February to early June whilst the “short rains” last from mid-September to mid-December. The rainfall is heaviest from March to May, especially over the mountains.
The dry season from June to September is the best time for gorilla tracking in the Volcanoes Park while the wet season is best for tracking chimpanzees in Nyungwe.
