Reasons To
Visit South Africa

  • Self Drive

The most economical and by far the most popular way to experience South Africa is on a self drive. The roads are good, traffic tends to be light and driving is on the left.

  • Wine Tasting

Within easy driving distance of Cape Town, the valleys of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek have become known as 'The Winelands'. Here you can admire the manicured rows of green and russet vines and even stop to sample the local tipple.

  • Whale Watching

Hermanus and Walker Bay, near Cape Town, are perhaps the best places in the world to spot whales from the shore (Jun-Dec). Whale watching trips from boats are also popular in South Africa.

  • Battlefields

Learn how Ghandi, Paul Kruger and Winston Churchill were all involved in the battle of Spioenkop, during the Boer War, or how a hundred British soldiers held off some 4,000 Zulus at Rorke’s Drift, and how nearly 1,800 were killed a few hours earlier at the battle of Isandlwana.

  • Big Cats & Safari Wildlife

South Africa offers some of the best safari in the whole of Africa. One of the best places are the private reserves of Kruger Greater Park, where you can see the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo).

Cape Town, The Cape Region & Winelands

This lovely little guest house is newly built and set high on the slopes of Signal Hill where you can easily reach all the main attractions in and around Cape Town and we feel it is a perfect base in the vibrant and stunning city.

The rooms are all individually decorated with a minimalist design and some have large balconies with sweeping views either over the city or Table Mountain making an ideal spot for a relaxing sun downer.

All the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, satellite television, telephone, internet facility, mini bar, safe, hairdryer and tea & coffee tray each with the ensuite bathrooms all have a separate shower and bath.

The other advantage about its location is that it is a short walk to Kloof Street, one of the most famous streets in Cape Town, and is filled with wonderful little shops, restaurants and café's.

There is also a little pool ideal for a quick swim and cool down during the hot summer months after a long day of sightseeing and is more inviting than the cool Atlantic waters!
