South Africa is a vast country that offers a remarkable breadth of experiences and a grand tour of this diverse country is an excellent way to link all of these together.

Most visits to South Africa would combine time in Cape Town with time on safari and this is no exception, but a grand tour of South Africa also allows you the chance to visit the beautiful Zulu heartlands of KwaZulu-Natal. Taking in cityscapes, mountain passes, open veld dotted with game, surf-pounded lonely beaches and tranquil lagoons fringed with green forests this journey encompasses many of South Africa's highlights in one trip.

One thing to note about this journey is its flexibility. We offer places on small, escorted tours that cover the route and leave every week, or we can put it together on an individual basis, allowing you to stay longer somewhere that interests you, or tweak the route to suit your interests.

Beginning in Johannesburg you head into the Lowveld for the game of the Kruger Park. Turning south, you pass through the mountain kingdom of Swaziland before arriving into KwaZulu-Natal for more game viewing. Durban is your jumping-off point for the Wild Coast, after which you get to the Garden Route. You finish off with a few days in Cape Town, the cosmopolitan city in the shade of Table Mountain.
