Day 1London
Depart from London for your flight to Durban via Johannesburg.
You will be meet on arrival in Johannesburg and presented with your documents for your trip and assisted with your connection to Durban. On arrival in Durban you can collect you hire car and make your way to the Midlands for the next two nights.
Spend the day exploring the area visiting the local artisans and sampling the local food.
Day 4The Midlands - Royal Natal National Park
Take the scenic drive up to the Drakensberg passing Zulu villages with breathtaking views as you make your way to your lodge near the Drakensberg Mountains.
Day 5Royal Natal National Park
Today you can strap on your walking boots and follow some of the hiking trails to be rewarded with stunning scenery of the Africa landscape.
Day 6Royal Natal National Park
Today you can explore the beautiful Drakensberg area further.
Day 7Royal Natal National Park - The Battlefields
Descend from the mountains onto the plains for your base for the next few nights to learn about the Zulu culture and the battles that shaped both their and our history in this province.
Take a tour of the Battlefields with your guide who will bring to life the story and take you through the events as they unfolded. An unmissable experience as individual soldiers and warriors stories are brought to life.
A fairly long drive day to your safari lodge but you are rewarded with the prospect of seeing Africa's big game!
Day 10Thanda Private Reserve
Day at leisure on safari to try and see if you can find the Big 5 (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino).
Day 11Thanda Private Reserve
Game-viewing in the morning and afternoon when the wildlife is most active.
Day 12Thanda Private Reserve - Rocktail Bay
From your safari lodge you will drive to the Elephant Coast and spend the next three nights relaxing on the beach.
Day 13Rocktail Bay
Day at leisure on the Elephant Coast. Spend your time here relaxing, taking long walks along the never ending beaches, and perhaps head out on a snorkelling or diving trip - the reefs are bursting with life.
Day 14Rocktail Bay
Another day to relax on the Elephant Coast.
Drive to Richards Bay Airport, drop off your hire car and check in for your international flight back to the UK.
