Day 1London
Depart London on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.
Fly on to Cape Town where you will be met by an Audley Representative who will hand you a comprehensive travel pack including any travel vouchers, maps or driving directions you may require. He will then assist you with meeting your connecting flight down to Cape Town where you will be met by your driver and transferred to your guesthouse in the foothills of Table Mountain.
Today you can explore Cape Town. You may like to take a trip to the top of Table Mountain, the views are spectacular.
This morning your hire car will be delivered to your hotel and you can drive down to Cape Point, where the two oceans meet at the Cape Point lighthouse.
Depart for Hermanus: the drive takes ninety minutes. Hermanus is a great seaside town with a market that`s worth exploring and it`s fun to potter around the various curio shops and enjoy one of Hermanus small seafront restaurants.
After breakfast, you drive to Hermanus on the stunning Whale Coast, and have the day at leisure to go whale-watching and to explore the beautiful coastline of Walker Bay
Today you drive to Swellendam, a historic little town where you can explore the De Hoop nature reserve or Montagu mountains
Today you drive to Oudtshoorn along Route 62, one of the most beautiful roads in South Africa. Oudtshoorn is in ostrich farming country on the edge of the Karoo.
Whilst in the Little Karoo, you should take advantage of your time to explore this less-visited area of the country. The Cango Caves, just outside Oudtshoorn are one of South Africa's premier attractions.
The drive from Oudtshoorn to Plettenberg Bay takes you through the mountain pass back to the coast. This is the Garden Route Region of South Africa. The drive should take around 2 hours.
Spend today at the Tsitsikamma Forest making the most of the activities on offer in this area and the stunning surroundings. Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Elephant Sanctuary are definitely worth a visit whilst here.
Today you may like to take a boat trip to see some of the marine life: dolphins are often sighted here and there are seal colonies close by.
Drive to Port Elizabeth and drop off your hire car before boarding your flight to The Kruger National Park, via Johannesburg. Pick up your 2x4 vehicle from the airport and drive the 45 minutes through to Hazyview. Enjoy a good dinner at Rissington Inn where you are staying this evening.
Day 13Hazyview
You have a full day to explore this fabulous region. Spend the day driving the Panorama Route with the Blyde River Canyon as its highlight.
Today you enter the Kruger. You must pay entrance at the gate and show them you reservation for Lower Sabie for the one night. You are free from here to drive around the park (buy a map at the gate) It is a thrill to encounter the animals from your own vehicle.
It is likely to take most of the day to drive from Lower Sabie to The Klaserie Reserve. You have to drive at low speed within the park and you find you a make regular stops to view game. If you want, you should plan to arrive at camp by 1500 if you want to go out for the late afternoon game drive.
Day 16The Klaserie Private Game Reserve
On safari, enjoying game-drives and guided walks with the knowledgeable rangers from your lodge.
Day 17The Klaserie Private Game Reserve - Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport- Nelspruit - Johannesburg & Pretoria
After the morning game drive and a late breakfast you drive back to KMIA airport, a drive of around four hours back to Kruger airport from here. You are dropping the car back at the airport and flying home from here via Johannesburg.
Day 18London
Arrive back in the UK.
