Day by Day

Day 1London

Overnight flight from London to Cape Town.

Day 2Cape Town - The Cederberg Mountains

This morning you will be met by one of our representatives who will provide you with all the documents you need for your trip. You then collect your hire car and drive to the beautiful Cederberg Mountains where you will stay for the next three nights at Bushman's Kloof.

Day 3The Cederberg Mountains

Spend your time at Bushman's Kloof exploring this unique wilderness. The wildlife here is varied and interesting including unusual antelope species such as the bontebok.

Day 4The Cederberg Mountains

There are numerous San rock art sites around the Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve, which are well worth a visit at some point during your stay. There are also some lovely walks available, as well as game-drives of course.

Day 5The Cederberg Mountains - Cape Town - George - Oudtshoorn

Drive back to Cape Town and drop off your car before your lunchtime flight to George, your starting point for the Garden Route. Here you will collect your car and drive up to Oudtshoorn where you are staying for the next two nights.

Day 6Oudtshoorn

Today you are at leisure to explore Oudtshoorn's ostrich farms, the superb desert scenery of the Klein Karoo and the spectacular Cango Caves.

Day 7Oudtshoorn - Plettenberg Bay

After breakfast, you drive down on to the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay, where you have the rest of the day at leisure to explore this spectacular area.

Day 8Plettenberg Bay

Day at leisure in Plettenberg Bay and the surrounding area - hiking the Robberg Peninsula would work really well for today.

Day 9Plettenberg Bay

Day at leisure in the Plettenberg Bay area. An ocean safari to the see the dolphins and seals, or kayaking on the Knynsa lagoon, would be a great option for today.

Day 10Plettenberg Bay

Today you could visit the Crags, where there are several animal sanctuaries including Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and an elephant sanctuary.

Day 11Plettenberg Bay - Shamwari

Today you drive to the Shamwari private game reserve for your safari from Long Lee Manor. The Big Five are all present here, as well as some superb birdlife.

Day 12Shamwari

Game-drives and guided walks from Long Lee Manor, exploring Shamwari. You might wish to visit the Born Free Foundation's sanctuary here to learn about the work they do to rescue big cats.

Day 13Shamwari

On safari in the Shamwari private game reserve. When you're not out on game-drives, you can enjoy a bit of pampering at the spa at your lodge!

Day 14Shamwari - Port Elizabeth - Johannesburg

This morning you drive back to Port Elizabeth where you will drop off your hire car at the airport. You then catch a short domestic flight up to Johannesburg, and then fly overnight back to London.

Day 15London

Arrive in the UK this morning.
