These ocean safaris are quite exciting as they involve beach launches and landings, crossing through the surf.

There are a number of outfits who offer boat trips into Plettenberg Bay. The best of them are licensed for close encounters with the marine animals and so you can get very close to them. By using a combination of hydrophones and sharp eyes, they will attempt to get you in amongst the whales (in season, July - December), dolphins and seals that swim in the bay, sometimes surfing the waves in. These ocean safaris are quite exciting as they involve beach launches and landings, crossing through the surf.
