Excursions in South Africa: Sailing & Sea Kayaking

There are a few outfits that offer sailing trips into Plettenberg Bay as well as sea kayaking. Apart from spectacular off-shore coastal scenery, it is very likely that at some stage, a close encounter with the marine animals will occur so you can get very close to them.

There are a few outfits that offer sailing trips into Plettenberg Bay as well as sea kayaking. Apart from spectacular off-shore coastal scenery, it is very likely that at some stage, a close encounter with the marine animals will occur so you can get very close to them.

During the whale season (July through to December) it is possible to see Southern Rights and Humpbacks from the decks of a yacht or catamaran and it is a very rewarding experience. It is also possible to see the Bottlenose dolphins and seals swimming in the bay either playing in the surf or on a 'fish run' hunt. Even without all the fantastic marine wildlife that may be seen, it is a wonderful and relaxing way to spend your morning or afternoon.
