Day 1London
Make your way to London Heathrow for your overnight flight to Nairobi with Kenyan Airways.
Day 2Nairobi - Kilimanjaro Airport - Karatu
After a brief change of planes in Nairobi, you will head on to Kilimanjaro airport. Seats on the left of the plane are a good idea to try and get if you want a good view of the mountain as you come in!
Upon landing, collect your visa (or proceed if you got one in the UK), to arrivals where you will be met from a driver-guide who will take you on a drive to Karatu where you will spend the night.
This morning you will set off with your driver-guide for Lake Manyara National Park, where you can enjoy game-drives for the day. You will take a picnic lunch with you to enjoy at midday and can spend your time exploring this small but beautiful national park. The flamingos on the lake are a classic East African sight, and the other wildlife here includes buffalo, zebra and if you`re lucky, you may see a lion or leopard. You will leave the park in the afternoon and be driven up the Rift Valley escarpment to the Ngorongoro Highlands and back to Ngorongoro Farmhouse.
This morning you will drive the half hour so to the crater gate before descending down into the crater to enjoy some game viewing.
If you`re lucky you may spot one of the resident rhino`s before heading back up in the afternoon and back to Ngorongoro Farmhouse.
Today we will travel from Karatu and through the stunning Ngorongoro Highlands to Olduvai Gorge where you will have lunch at this important prehistoric site.
From here it`s straight into the Serengeti and to Ndutu where the migration should be lurking around at this time, for what promises to be a great safari.
Game-drives in the Serengeti - you can enjoy morning and afternoon game-drives from the camp, returning for lunch, or you can take a picnic lunch out with you to make the most of a full-day drive - the choice is yours!
Another day on safari in the Serengeti - you can spend your time exploring the very different regions of this vast park with your guides according to what wildlife you`ve already seen on your safari thus far. The birdlife in the Serengeti is also spectacular, with a variety of different bustards, the colourful lilac-breasted rollers and the shimmering wings of the superb starlings.
Today we will take a journey into the centre of the Serengeti for one last game drive, before catching our flight with Coastal to Arusha airport.
Here a driver will take you to Moivaro Lodge for the afternoon where you have a day room and a pool where you can enjoy the afternoon before your flight. Meals and drinks will be at your own expense.
Your driver will then pick you up at 5pm and drop you at Kilimanjaro airport where you fly from to Nairobi, and in turn the overnight flight back to London Heathrow.
