You will be met on arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport and transferred to the domestic terminal to connect with the Coastal Air scheduled flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On landing, you will be met and depart on the short drive to the Lake Manze Camp. You will have the opportunity for an afternoon game drive or boat safari.
A full day on safari in the Selous. Often you will go out for a game drive early in the morning, returning for lunch and a snooze in the heat of the day. Later, as it cools down and the animals become more active, you will head back out into the bush.
Game viewing activities in the Selous. The Selous is one of the few places in Tanzania where you might see the rare hunting dogs, a real treat for wildlife lovers, so keep your eyes peeled.
Today will be another day to explore the Selous. At some point during your stay you may wish to do a bush walk. While you don`t tend to see as much game as you would from a vehicle, this is a great way to experience the sights and sounds of the bush- from quiet birdsong to the giant paw print of a lion in the dust.
This morning you will leave the Selous and catch a light aircraft flight westwards to the Ruaha. You will land in the park just before lunch, then in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to head out and explore the park.
Safari in the Ruaha. This is the second biggest national park in Tanzania and is great for spotting elephant, lion and buffalo, so keep your eyes peeled!
A whole day on safari from Mdonya. You might like to head down to the great Ruaha River where hippos wallow in the pools, or take a drive along the side of the water, looking for rare sable antelope.
Fly from Ruaha to Dar by light aircraft transfer, touching down in the Selous on the way. On arrival in Dar you will be shown to your next Coastal flight to the island of Zanzibar. You will be met on arrival at Zanzibar Airport and transferred by road to Fumba Beach lodge on the South of the island for the next six nights.
Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or at the pool.
A day at leisure, from Fumba they have their own dive centre so from here you can do snorkelling and diving at your leisure, trips on a dhow at sunset or you can take walks to the local villages.
