Reasons to Visit
The Seychelles are world famous for their beaches and in rightly so. They really are as picture postcard beautiful as you imagine. The islands of Seychelles are fringed with perfect white sands ideal for beach lovers.
Taking a sailing trip is an excellent way to see more of the Seychelles’ beautiful island coastline. Swimming in secluded coves and exploring Robinson Crusoe-style desert islands is the stuff of daydreams.
Snorkelling and diving in the Seychelles are fantastic ways to see the diverse coral reefs and marine life. The best time to snorkel with whale sharks is in August and between October and January.
There is a wide range of accommodation on the Seychelles including deluxe five-star hotels, Creole guesthouses, boutique hotels, plantation houses and exclusive private island hideaways (these have only one exclusive lodge). Accommodation locations range from the larger islands of Praslin and Mahé to sleepy La Digue and far flung Desroches.
The coral reefs and drop-offs are host to an array of marine life from the big game fish marlin, sailfish and tuna to the colourful reef fish which teem in schools around the coral.
The Seychelles is home to well over 200 species of birds that vary from residents that stay all year around, to migrants who pass through with the seasons. Bird Island, as the name suggests, is alone home to around 800,000 pairs of sooty terns.
Lying back with a cocktail and occasionally dipping into the turquoise Indian Ocean to cool off is a wonderfully relaxing way to spend a day, or even a few!
If you visit from Oct-Jan you may be lucky enough to be joined by the Hawksbill turtles. Now critically endangered, they come ashore to dig their nests in the sand and then lay their eggs. A couple of months later (Dec-Mar)the hatchlings scuttle back into the sea during the night. The rare Green Turtle can be seen from June to September.

Fregate is one of the most superb islands in the Seychelles. Frégate Island Resort is very exclusive and we highly recommend it.
Frégate Island Resort has a peaceful and private atmosphere. There are seventeen luxury villas here, built on low cliffs above the sea.
Each villa is spacious and stylish with marble floors, four poster beds and elegant antique tables bursting with tropical flowers in smooth round vases, fresh fruit and tiny sculpted tortoises. There is art on the walls, billowing muslin drapes in the windows and every touch attended to. The en-suite bathrooms have sunken baths with views of the sea and outdoor showers fringed with hibiscus and fragrant frangipani. To top it all off there are large decks and your own private Jacuzzi. Thirteen of the villas have one bedroom, whilst the others include a presidential villa, a spa villa and two two bedroom villas ideal for families.
The resort takes much pride in the cuisine - there are a choice of two restaurants serving Creole and international cuisine, as well as bar, beach bar and a wine cellar. Meals are extremely flexible to suit you, allowing you to eat at whatever time you wish in a choice of locations including the tree house, yacht club, or on the beach.
There is plenty to do on Frégate including diving, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, fishing and trips to other islands. Land-based activities include mountain biking, tennis, volleyball and badminton. There are also two swimming pools, a well equipped gym and the Rock spa which offers a range of treatments. A number of walking trails lead to the top of Mount Signal with stunning views and through the trees to seven private beaches. We recommend a minimum stay of five nights on Frégate, and once here, you won't want to leave.
Fregate Island is a perfect island paradise with its warm turquoise waters and pristine white sand beaches. The island is also home to giant tortoises and hawksbill turtles.
