    Snorkelling and diving in the Seychelles are fantastic ways to see the diverse coral reefs and marine life. The best time to snorkel with whale sharks is in August and between October and January.

    There is a wide range of accommodation on the Seychelles including deluxe five-star hotels, Creole guesthouses, boutique hotels, plantation houses and exclusive private island hideaways (these have only one exclusive lodge).     The coral reefs and drop-offs are host to an array of marine life from the big game fish marlin, sailfish and tuna to the colourful reef fish which teem in schools around the coral.

    The Seychelles is home to well over 200 species of birds that vary from residents that stay all year around, to migrants who pass through with the seasons. Bird Island, as the name suggests, is alone home to around 800,000 pairs of sooty terns.

    Lying back with a cocktail and occasionally dipping into the turquoise Indian Ocean to cool off is a wonderfully relaxing way to spend a day, or even a few!

    If you visit from Oct-Jan you may be lucky enough to be joined by the Hawksbill turtles. Now critically endangered, they come ashore to dig their nests in the sand and then lay their eggs. A couple of months later (Dec-Mar)the hatchlings scuttle back into the sea during the night. The rare Green Turtle can be seen from June to September.

Accommodation in The Seychelles: L'Archipel

L'Archipel is a elegant, peaceful and refined. It has a superb setting and is one of our favourite properties on Praslin.

Rooms

There are 23 deluxe rooms which are 44m2 in size.

All have terraces where you can sit out and enjoy the panoramic sea views. Inside the rooms are equipped with everything you need; king-sized bed, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, hairdryer, and satellite television. The en suite bathroom is equipped with shower, two wash basins and separate toilet. Some, but not all rooms have bathtubs.

The three senior suites are a little larger at 65m2 and have all the amenities of the deluxe rooms. They also have an additional lounge area and walk-in wardrobes. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and bathtub as well as a separate toilet. All the senior suites have terraces of 12m2.

Finally, there are four executive suites which are 120m2. In addition to the comfort of the other rooms they have a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with bath and shower. The best feature though is the expansive veranda. This is 17m2 and there is simply nowhere better to sit and enjoy a drink as the sun goes down.
