Sooty terns of Bird Island
In the southeast trade wind, around 800,000 pairs of sooty terns nest on the northern tip of the island. Hawksbill turtles come to the beaches and the coral reefs are rich in marine life.
Activities
The island is surrounded by sandy beaches, backed by coconut palms that shelve gently to turquoise waters. There are plenty of activities on Bird Island, including walking, snorkelling, diving and boat trips.
