Day 1London
You will fly from London to Lusaka overnight.
On arrival in Lusaka you will connect onto a flight to Mfuwe. You will be collected at the airport by a guide from Mfuwe Lodge and driven into the park. You will arrive at Mfuwe Lodge where you will stay for two nights. Mfuwe Lodge has a very pretty location above a lagoon with a resident pod of hippos. A large pool deck overlooks a waterhole which frequently has game at it. This evening you can enjoy your first game activity.
Today you will participate in your first full day of morning and afternoon game viewing activities. The South Luangwa National Park is regarded as one of the finest safari destinations in Africa, and the game is phenomenally varied. In the afternoon you will be able to relax by the pool with a good book and enjoy overlooking the dry river bed.
For your morning game drive, Bushcamp will transfer you to Kapamba, their newest and most opulent bush camp. Beautifully situated on the Kapamba River, you will spend three nights in a luxurious open fronted chalet, allowing you to view game from the comfort of your own room.
Walking safaris from Kapamba are exceptional, with a number of trails following the course of the river. You will notice a number of sights and sounds not accessible from a vehicle, and there is nothing to match the thrill of getting up close and personal with game on foot.
One more day of extensive safari activities from Kapamba- you might want to begin with a guided morning walk before relaxing in the afternoon and heading out for an evening game drive all before sundowner drinks in the middle of the bush.
You will be transferred by four wheel drive vehicle to Chamilandu Bushcamp, which is fantastically situated on the banks of the Luangwa River. Here you will spend three nights in a stylish tree house chalet in this beautiful camp.
Today you will be able to choose completely from either game drives or walking safaris around Chamilandu, as you are the only guests in camp. This area is rich in both birdlife and wildlife and your guides will take you out to search for the leopards which can be found in the riverine forest around the camp and the lion pride which is sometimes seen on the plains.
Your last full day on safari and you will be able to enjoy more walks or drives from Chamilandu. The game here is fantastic and you will leave with some fantastic memories.
As part of your morning game drive your guide will take you back through the varying habitats of the South Luangwa to Mfuwe Airport to catch your light aircraft transfer to Lusaka. In Lusaka you will be met and driven to Eight Reedbuck hotel where you will have one night.
Early in the morning you will be driven to the airport to catch the BA flight back to London. This direct flight to London arrives in the early evening.
