Our Tailor-made suggestions for this itinerary are:

  • Spend a couple of nights relaxing in the Livingstone area, home to the spectacular Victoria Falls.

Day by Day

Day 1London

Fly from London to Johannesburg overnight.

Day 2Johannesburg - Lusaka Airport - Kafue National Park

Connect with your morning flight from Johannesburg to Lusaka. At Lusaka you will meet up with your guide and group and take a light aircraft transfer to the wild Kafue National Park. You will be staying in Lufupa Tented Camp which overlooks the river and is located in the centre of the huge national park.

Day 3Kafue National Park

You will enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities from Lufupa. The Kafue is one of the most remote, authentic experiences to be found in Africa, and Wilderness employ some of the finest guides in Zambia.

Day 4Kafue National Park

Day of game viewing from Lufupa Camp with your guide. You will enjoy a boat trip on the river and game drives to expore the area.

Day 5Kafue National Park

It`s an early start today for the game drive/transfer up to the Busanga Plains. This transfer takes around three-four hours. You will be staying for two nights at the Discover Camp - Musanza Tented Camp. This simple camp has a wonderful location in the game-rich Busanga area.

Day 6Kafue National Park

A day of game viewing from Musanza Camp. Each day you`ll head out to explore the bush with your guide. There`ll normally be an early morning start, with a break for lunch and a snooze in the middle of the day. Later on in the afternoon you`ll head back out for another game drive.

Day 7Kafue National Park

This morning you will continue your journey northwards into the expanses of the Busanga Plains. The Busanga Plains, covering approximately 750 square kilometres, are considered one of Zambia`s most important wetlands as well as a wildlife paradise with a wealth of plains game, predators and birds

Day 8Kafue National Park

Day of game viewing on the Busanga Plains. This is a great area to spot predators like cheetah, hyena and large lion prides. The birdlife is also really unique here and the plains game abundant.

Day 9Kafue National Park - Lusaka Airport - Johannesburg

After breakfast this morning, you will sadly need to wave goodbye to the Kafue. However the end on a high note with a breathtaking helicopter transfer from your camp to the airstrip. From here its a light aircraft flight back to Lusaka for your onward international flights via Johannesburg back to London.
