Our Tailor-made suggestions for this itinerary are:

  • Spend a couple of nights by the Victoria Falls, there are some great lodges along the Zambezi River and the Falls are spectacular.
  • Fly across into Malawi for a few nights relaxing by Lake Malawi. The Lake has golden beaches around its shore and tiny islands, perfect for relaxation after your safari.

Day by Day

Day 1London

You will fly from London to Lusaka overnight this evening.

Day 2Lusaka Airport - South Luangwa National Park

Fly from Lusaka to Mfuwe, the small airport close to the South Luangwa. From here you will be driven into the national park to Kakuli Bushcamp, a tiny little camp in a wild area of the park. You can enjoy game viewing on your way to the camp and will also go out again this afternoon/evening for a game drive.

Day 3South Luangwa National Park

A day of safari activities from Kakuli. You will be able to go out on walking safaris or game drives with your guide, as well as a night drive to spot some of the nocturnal wildlife of the Luangwa.

Day 4South Luangwa National Park

Today you will either take a safari drive or a walking safari across to Mchenja Bushcamp. The camp overlooks the Luangwa River and is shaded by ebony trees. Relax at camp before going on an afternoon/evening safari activity.

Day 5South Luangwa National Park

Today you will participate in morning and afternoon game viewing activities. The South Luangwa National Park is regarded as one of the finest safari destinations in Africa, and the game is phenomenally varied.

Day 6South Luangwa National Park - Mfuwe - Lower Zambezi National Park

You will leave the South Luangwa today and catch your onward flight to the Lower Zambezi. You will be met at the airstrip and driven to camp. Here you will be able to relax before heading out to explore on your evening game activity. The sunsets in the Lower Zambezi are fantastic so make sure you make the most of these.

Day 7Lower Zambezi National Park

A full day to enjoy the fabulous game viewing on offer at Sausage Tree Camp. The focus here is on water-based activities and there is some great game-viewing to be done on boat safaris. The bird-life is prolific at this time of year and you will also see herds of elephant and pods of hippo that live in Zambezi. Each day you are also likely to go on an evening game drive.

Day 8Lower Zambezi National Park

Day of activities from Sausage Tree Camp.

Day 9Lower Zambezi National Park

For your final day of safari activities in Zambia you might want to try tiger fishing in the river. The Zambezi tiger fish can grow to up to 12kg, and there are also plentiful bream and chessa to catch if the big one eludes you.

Day 10Lower Zambezi National Park - Lusaka

You will leave camp today and fly back to Lusaka to meet your flight back to the UK.

Land in London.
