Day 1London
This evening you will fly from London to Lusaka overnight with BA.
On arrival in Lusaka you will be met and taken to the check in for your flight on to Mfuwe. When you land here a vehicle will be waiting to take you through Mfuwe village and up into the park. Here you will do a game drive on the way to camp and spend the afternoon on safari. If you are feeling energetic there are some mountain bikes in camp which are a fantastic way to explore the bush.
A day of game viewing activities from Tafika Lodge. This usually includes a walk in the morning and a late afternoon drive, where sundowners are followed by a night expedition searching for nocturnal animals.
After breakfast this morning you will set off on foot to the remote bushcamps. You'll walk in single file, stopping for a tea break along the way and to enjoy the animals that you see. On arrival in camp you'll be met by a cool drink before your afternoon snooze under the trees.
Your adventure continues onwards today, to Chikoko Bushcamp. This is a beautiful walk with plenty of stops for game viewing along the way. You should arrive in camp in plenty of time for lunch and a well deserved snooze before your afternoon walk.
Today you will continue on foot to the river bank, where you'll normally catch the boat across to the other bank. From here you will do a game drive back to the main camp, where you will have the afternoon free to explore. A great activity to do here is to visit the nearby village, which the lodge a great supporter of.
A whole day to enjoy the bush from Tafika. While you are here you may like to do an early morning microlight flight. This is an optional extra, but highly recommended. It offers the chance for stunning aerial shots of the wildlife, not to mention seeing the birds up close. You will spend the rest of the day on safari.
Today you will leave Tafika and head to the lodge's little airstrip for your flight up to the North Luangwa National Park. This is a very pretty little flight. A driver will be waiting to greet you at the airstrip and take you to camp, which will be your base for the next four nights.
A day at Mwaleshi. A typical day here involves an early morning walk of 3-4 hours with a stop for tea along the way. The pace will be slow and gentle and a hat is definitely advisable. In the afternoon, after a break for lunch and a snooze, you head out again for another short walk.
You will have the whole day to walk from Mwaleshi. Most walks follow the line of the river, so alongside the game viewing, birding is spectacular. In the middle of the day, while it is hot, it`s often possible to dip your toes in the shallows of the Mwaleshi River in front of camp.
Morning and afternoon walks from Mwaleshi. Most walks here begin and end in camp, but occasionally you may hop in a vehicle to explore an area further afield.
A final day on safari from Mwaleshi Camp in the North Luangwa.
Today you will leave Mwaleshi and head back to the airstrip for your onward flight to Mfuwe. Here you will pick up a larger plane and fly down to Lusaka where you will spend the night.
Early this morning you will be taken to the airport for your flight back to London with BA. You will normally land back in the UK in the early evening.
