Zambia is situated in the tropics and receives strong sunlight and good rainfall.
It has a dry season from May to the end of October and a rainy season from November to April. In the dry season you can expect clear blue skies and sunshine as well as excellent game viewing. From November onwards, Zambia receives high rainfall, many areas become inaccessible and the camps in the Kafue and Lower Zambezi close.
The lodges in the Luangwa stay open and offer excellent boat safaris which are especially good for bird-watching.

April
Green Season in Zambia is a time of plenty, when animals take full advantage of the abundant food to give birth to their young, and when the Bush is at its most colourful. With parks empty of vehicles and prices a fraction of those in high season, this is a magical time for the safari enthusiast.
