Sailing Safari
Stone Town, Zanzibar Island, Zanzibar Archipelago
This is a full day excursion on locally made traditional sailing dhows finished to the highest standard and fitted with outboard engines.
You are collected from your hotel and transferred to the fishing village of Fumba which is an ideal starting point to explore Menai Bay, now designated as a conservation area. The bay has a number of uninhabited islands and sandbanks and is frequented by humpback and bottlenose dolphins.
This tour also includes snorkelling and lunch on a small island or sand bank. After lunch there is an opportunity to join an experienced crew and sail on a Ngalawa - an outrigger canoe made by hand from a single mango tree. You will return to land under sail, if wind permits before being transferred back to your hotel.
