Day by Day

Day 1London

You will depart London onboard your overnight flight to Adelaide.

Day 2Singapore - Adelaide

Upon arrival in Adelaide you will be met at the airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Spend the rest of your day exploring your hotel surrounds and the centre of Adelaide.

Day 3Adelaide - Kangaroo Island

This morning you will make your way back to the airport for a short flight across to the wildlife haven that is Kangaroo Island. Upon arrival you will be met and embark on a full day tour, taking in the highlights of this fascinating island. Following a full day of exploration you will be dropped back at the airport for your return flight to Adelaide, where you will spend the night.

Day 4Adelaide - Melbourne

You have this morning at leisure to explore Adelaide a little further before making your way back to the airport in time for your flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival you will make your own way to your hotel, located on the bustling southbank. Spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 5Melbourne

Today you will be at leisure in Melbourne. Perhaps take a stroll through the cobble stone alleyways of the central business district. Or maybe hop on a tram (an icon of Melbourne in itself) and make your way down to the beachside suburb of St Kilda - the perfect spot for a coffee or cafe meal by the waters edge.

Day 6Melbourne - Apollo Bay

This morning you will pick up your hire-car and start your journey along the stunning Great Ocean Road, one of Australia's undisputed highlights and iconic gems. Today you will drive as far as the seaside town of Apollo Bay and we would suggest driving via the Mornington Peninsula, complete with wineries, beaches and local food producers.

Day 7Apollo Bay - Port Fairy

Today you will continue driving west, today driving along the picture-postcard stretch of the Great Ocean Road, passing classic sites such as 'London Bridge', 'Loch Ard Gorge' and 'The Twelve Apostles'. You will end your journey in the pretty fishing village of Port Fairy, where you will spend the night.

Day 8Port Fairy - Melbourne - Sydney

Today you will make your way back to Melbourne where you will drop your car at the Melbourne Airport and fly to Sydney, a city which needs no introduction. Upon arrival you will make your way to your hotel in the city centre and spend the rest of your day exploring some of the city's key attractions which are on your doorstep.

Day 9Sydney

Spend today at leisure exploring the highlights of Sydney - perhaps taking in a cruise on the harbour, a tour of the Sydney Opera House or, even, a walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Day 10Sydney - Queenstown

You will make your way back to the airport this morning for your trans-Tasman flight to New Zealand and the stunning city of Queenstown in the south island of the country. You will be met at the airport in Queenstown where you will be given the necessary documentation for your stay in New Zealand. You can then pick up your hire car and make your way to your boutique hotel for the next two nights.

Day 11Queenstown

There is so much to do and see in the Southern Lakes region that it is difficult to know where to begin. Please see our recommendations for some of your free time.

Day 12Queenstown - Fox Glacier

Today you have a long drive, but it is extremely spectacular. If you start early you will have time to stop in the beautiful town of Wanaka where you may like to take a walk around the lake before making your way up the wild west coast to the glacier township of Fox.

Day 13Fox Glacier

This morning you check in for your heli-hike. You will be provided with boots, socks and crampons and a waterproof jacket. You need to take suncream and your sunglasses. You will be escorted to the helicopter for your flight up on to the glacier where you meet your guide for your two hour walk amongst the blue ice caves.

Day 14Fox Glacier - Greymouth - Christchurch

Continue up the west coast today and drop your car off at Greymouth station before boarding the TranzAlpine train which will take you across the width of the Island. After this interesting and attractive train ride, you will arrive in Christchurch where you can easily find a taxi to take you to your centrally located B&B for the night.

Day 15Christchurch - Napier & Hawkes Bay

Spend the morning at leisure in this very English of cities before flying up to Napier on the North Island. Pick up another hire car from the airport and drive to your property in the middle of the world famous vines of the Hawkes Bay region.

Day 16Napier & Hawkes Bay

The cycling tour included today offers a unique cycling experience giving you the opportunity to enjoy tasting some of Hawkes Bay's finest foods and wines, while at the same time, taking in the superb scenery of the Ngatarawa Triangle.

Day 17Napier & Hawkes Bay - Rotorua

Drive into the geothermal centre of the country, the culturally important town of Rotorua. You are staying at one of our favourite properties for two nights and will be given a very warm welcome by your Maori hosts.

Day 18Rotorua

You will have today at leisure in Rotorua. You may like to visit Te Puia for a chance to see some fascinating Geysers and for an opportunity to learn a little more about the Maori culture.

Day 19Rotorua - Auckland

Drive up to Auckland today where you are staying overnight. You can drop your car off as there is no need for it in this busy and vibrant city.

Day 20Auckland

Today you will have time at leisure to explore Auckland. You may like to take a trip up to Mount Eden from where you will have some spectacular views over the city and harbour. This evening you make your way to the airport where you can take your international flights back to the UK.

Day 21London

Arrive in the UK.
