Each Desert Track tour takes you on an ancient journey of how Tjukurpa (creation lore) has been passed down by generations of native Australians. They open up their traditional and sacred land and pass on their stories of morality and creation so you can understand how the local Pitjantjatjara and Yunkunyjatjara people have lived off this arid landscape for thousands of years.

Departing Ayers Rock Resort at around 14:00 and heading out by 4WD through bush tracks directly south through the arid desert and into the Pitjantjatjara lands.  In the late afternoon you are met by Anangu hosts and teachers at the sacred site of Cave Hill where Tjukurpa (creation lore) is based on the songline of the Seven Sisters. There story crosses the width and breadth of the Australian continent. The main feature is the magnificent cave paintings, possibly the most significant art site in central Australia.  Here the drama of the Seven Sisters is graphically illustrated on the ceiling of the cave. After a busy afternoon, you can sit around the campfire and discuss Tjukurpa and learn about the Ngintaka songline and about Anangu life in the desert.

After waking early and witnessing the magnificent sunrise from atop Cave Hill you will depart for camp at Atal. A guide will lead you along the spectacular Mann Ranges, following the Ngintaka songline through the untouched desert landscape. Visit significant Aboriginal sites and if you're lucky the tales relevant to each area will be re-enacted through song and dance.

After an early breakfast, return to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to visit both these culturally significant and iconic destinations. Follow the songline around Uluru and experience the ecological uniqueness that has given this park world heritage status. You will then be dropped off back at your hotel on the Ayers Rock Resort.
