Australia tempting travellers to the outback: 06-05-2008

Australia's vast regional areas must be used to attract more overseas visitors, it has been claimed.
According to the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) the regional areas such as the Margaret River region were the secret to Australia's quality.
John King, chairman of the ATEC, believes the expansion would attract more travellers to the country.
"We constantly need to expand and enhance the experiences that you can have in Australia," he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Its no surprise that the government are seeking to direct travellers into the bush as it harbours some of Australia's most beautiful natural attractions.
Bush Heritage Australia (BHA) was set up to protect the regional area of the country and ensure that the wildlife and habitats remained intact.
If you are considering a trip to the outback of Australia, the Yourka Reserve on the western edge of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area is a great place to see some of the country's animals including the red goshawk.
"Yourka Reserve features iconic rainforest remnants, declining wet eucalyptus woodlands, grasslands, and numerous waterways and lagoons," said Doug Human, CEO of Bush Heritage Australia.
