Celebrations begin at pre-Christmas in Brisbane: 21-12-2007

The pre-Christmas weekend in Brisbane attracts over 300,000 visitors every year as people flock to the South Bank Parklands to join in the celebrations.
A free barbeque is provided by a local Brisbane Radio station and visitors gather for al fresco screenings of big movies on the cultural forecourt in the early evening.
The entertainment continues with a Ferris Wheel and swing dance lessons and visitors can see the luminous Rainbow Tree and enjoy the Christmas lights that cover the area during the festive season.
A daily pantomime, carol singers and Santa Claus are all in attendance and firework displays light up the evening skies everyday.
The festival runs from December 21st to 23rd every year and visitors can enjoy the Australian summer by taking a swim in the South Beach Parklands lagoon to cool off.
Extensive gardens and water features cover the parklands and restaurants, picnic areas and shops provide tourists with plenty of things to do during their holiday.
