Climate conscious water park to open: 01-07-2008

Queensland premier Anna Bligh has awarded the Fraser Coast Regional Council $4.95 million, which will go towards opening a climate conscious water park at Pialba.
The funding comes from Queensland's infrastructure legacy program and will contribute to the $12.8 million partnership between the state, the council and Wide Bay Water Corporation.
"In the past a project like this may have used valuable potted water," said Ms Bligh.
"Today that would be unthinkable. Instead this project is one where the architects have put a great deal of effort into developing its sustainability and future relevance."
The park will have its own water tank that uses 1.8 megalitres of treated storm water.
Attractions will include water jets, talking animal statues, a giant water movie screen and a place to surf.
It will also contain an education area, giving information on the science of water desalination, recycling and production.
