Adelaide Fringe Festival: 19-02-2008

Organisers of the Adelaide Fringe festival in Australia claim that this year's event will be the biggest ever, with 5,470 performances by around 3,000 artists.
Famous for its fun and festivities, the quirky annual festival includes events such as the Adelaide International Buskers Festival, the massive international Opening Night Party headlined by The Presets, art show upstART and 10x10xFringe, which showcases offerings from new film and bands.
Starting on February 22nd and running until March 16th, Adelaide Fringe will feature excellent local and international comedy, theatre, live music, magicians, jugglers, outdoor performance, acrobats, street entertainers and visual art.
Founded in 1860 as an alternative to the Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe is an open access event for local and smaller-scale artists and is believed to be the largest fringe festival in the Southern Hemisphere.
