Melbourne keeps Grand Prix: 09-07-2008

Adventure travellers in Victoria, Australia will be able to take in the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne until at least 2015 after a deal was signed with Formula One Management in London last week.
The four-day event attracted over a quarter of a million (300,000) people this year and featured the final bow of rock legends KISS.
Britain's Lewis Hamilton won the race but it was an Australian who was smiling last week when the deal was signed.
"Todays announcement confirms what every Melbournian knows we live in the undisputed major events capital of the world," said Premier John Brumby.
"The Grand Prix has been an outstanding event for Victoria over a long period of time and has helped put Melbourne on a global stage.
"Retaining the event is important to Victorias ongoing growth and prosperity."
Visitors to Victoria can also take in the Great Ocean Road and experience the excellent local food and wine while more adventurous travellers can bushwalk through the region's High Country.
