The Big Picture, Queenstown

Located in the epicentre of the Central Otago wine triangle, 'The Big Picture' is New Zealand's only attraction that offers an interactive wine and film experience. Visitors enjoy a short film which takes them on a helicopter ride to the vineyards, over Lake Hayes, through Gibbston Valley to Bannokburn, south to Alexandra, up to the Cromwell Basin, over the Pisa Flats and the lake to Bendigo before arriving in Wanaka. It features a stop at five vineyards on the way, each winemaker taking you through their wine.

During the film visitors are presented with the corresponding wine to taste, each glass being underlit so they glow in the darkened theatre. Afterwards you can enjoy some fine culinary delights at the restaurant, browse the shop containing a good selection of local wine and vinous paraphernalia, or explore the perfume room to complete your sensory experience. Whether you are a wine lover or simply looking for a fun day out, 'The Big Picture' is a fantastic way to introduce yourself to Central Otago.
