Tahiti, French Polynesia
Your Aranui experience begins in Papeete, Tahiti, and will carry you to the lush, jagged volcanic islands of the Marquesas, French Polynesia's most spectacular island chain.
Your days will be filled with adventure as the 15 day voyage takes you to two ports of call in the Tuamotu Islands and fifteen in the Marquesas. Every day, whether at sea or when the Aranui arrives at one of the remote villages that she serves, will bring you fresh and exciting new experiences.
The Aranui is a working freight vessel serving the remote islands, but incorporates a cruise area which has been designed specifically with passengers' comfort in mind, at the same time retaining a remarkably friendly and professional atmosphere.
On-board facilities include a swimming pool, gym, library, bars, lounges and dining room, as well as tasteful, spacious suites. Equipment is available for fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving, and the spirited crew will share the music of the islands with you. Standard berths feature private facilities, while deluxe cabins offer the added luxury of a queen-sized bed and en suite facilities with bathtub. For those seeking something a bit special, there are also ten suites with balconies.
On board, time passes quickly. There are two charming bars, two lounges and a full programme of activities. You'll learn about Marquesian history, culture and art from the guest lecturers, and the crew will teach you to weave hats, wear national dress and dance the tamure.
