Fiordland Navigator Cruise
Doubtful Sound, New Zealand
Perhaps one of the finest options in Fiordland, the overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound takes you to some of the national park’s most untouched and inspiring scenery. Less visited than the neighbouring Milford Sound, the experience is enhanced by the feeling of utter tranquillity and remoteness.
You begin with a speedy catamaran journey across beautiful Lake Manapouri, followed by a steep road journey over Wilmot Pass. On a fine day the views from the top are unsurpassed. As the coach brings you down to Deep Cove, the Fiordland Navigator comes into view.
You journey along the mirror-like waterways in complete comfort, with ample deck space for all to enjoy the views and observe the wildlife. Nature guides will take you out in tender boats or kayaks for a closer look, and they also provide a wealth of information about the area and its natural inhabitants.
Accommodation on board is in private cabins with en suite facilities, although a small number of quad share cabins with shared facilities are also available. An excellent three course buffet dinner is served, accompanied by drinks from the well-stocked bar, and in the morning a full cooked breakfast is prepared for you to enjoy as you return to Deep Cove.
